Gods of Earth and Thunder: A Heathen Hymn
Tune: "God of Earth and Altar"

Oh Gods of Earth and Thunder, bow down and hear our cry,
Our Heathen people call you with prayers said on high;
Take not thy power from us, but give to us our pride.

Of all that Thunor teaches, of honour and brave men,
Of all of Woden's speeches and words on kith and kin,
Our Heathen people call you, with prayers said on high;
Take not thy wisdom from us, but give to us our pride.

Oh Gods and Elves and Disir; see all our Heathen lives;
Our might all joined together, at blot on hills up high;
To raise a horn up to you, in symbel and in thing,
Thanks be for gifts you gave us, and for the gifts you bring.

Inspired by "A Hymn" (1906) by Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874 – 1936)

Dedicated to All Asatru and Germanic Heathenry.
