Castle Walls

Whispers from the castle walls
Stories in the stones
The walls are mostly ruble now
And the hills are full of bones
Whispers from the castle walls
Want me to hear a story
Of those who walked here long ago
Tales of woe and glory

Your Fathers walked in these halls
And now lay buried in the hills
Memories are all around
There are those who say some walk here still

Generations long ago
Wielded their swords
Some to die from quicker blade
Some to reap rewards
Others learned to work the land
Enticing things to grow
And kept an eye on the sun and moon
And when to reap and sow

Your Fathers
They worked these lands
And now lay buried in its hills
Memory is all around
There are those who say some work here still

Some worked with metal
Some with wood
Clever with their hands
All kept an eye on the common good
And the borders of the land

Whispers from the castle walls
Want me to hear a story
Of those who walked here long ago
Tales of woe and glory
