~ Poetry by me ~

Caveat Lector

What is it that both is common
To poems and ladies alike,
Both exquisite creatures but fickle,
As likely to stroke as to strike?

Both lure the mind with their beauty,
Make warriors foolish and brave,
Bring wounds to the heart or the body,
And many a man to his grave.

Trust not in the utterings of either,
O reader, lest you be lulled.
But most of all be you wary
Of a woman who also is skald.
