~ Non-Norse Poetry by me ~
Vacancy
Despair she knew not. For her mind
Was sealed to joy and tears alike.
She had to keep her strength, for him.
He would return, sometime. She knew.
When people marvelled at her ways,
She answered them with even voice
And kept her forehead clear from frowns.
SheŽd see him soon. So why the fuss.
Last night she almost slept. Today
She bought some flowers, just for him.
He would return. Her frozen smile
Fixed on the gravestone, once again.
