~ Non-Norse Poetry by me ~
Linked
Hands Together
(Acrostic poem)
Laughing, you grasped your own hands
In the cradle, first toys you had; and
No greater joy for the
Kid you became than
Entangling your fingers with those of your
Dad, to meander the meadows of childhood together.
Hands joined for greeting
And parting - and prayer;
New business settled by handshake; you
Dared to hold your love´s hand
So trembling the first time.
Then on your marriage day
Oaths you spoke solemnly,
Grasping her tightly, not
Ever intended you letting her go - but
Time, after years, did loosen your
Hands, and now at the
End are your palms laid together,
Resting in peace.
