Snow Queen: A Song For Skadi      Sheet music

Aaaaah .... Aaaaah...
The stars shine bright on the icy meadow,
The moon glints cold on the icy road,
The track of the white wolf warns of her passing,
Bright blood stains the frozen snow.

Frost-crackled winds wipe bare the helpless trees,
Then pile them high with crystal-crusted snow,
She strokes your throat with loving icy hands,
Then whips your back in wrath as you turn to go.
The Green Man's children cower on their knees,
A velvet weight bends blackened branches low,
Earth's caterpiller life is at a close,
Chrysalis-cloaked, it seeks a time to grow.

The stars shine bright on the icy meadow,
The moon glints cold on the icy road,
The track of the white wolf warns of her passing,
Bright blood stains the frozen snow.

We stand upon the bridge of icy metal,
We stare into the water far below,
She calls us down into the perfect silence,
She shows us what we did not want to know.
We stare into the water dark below,
She calls us down into the perfect silence
She shows us what we did not want to know.
We hear the cry of wind and screaming metal,
The glassy road, the helpless driver spins,
The quiet of the snowy bank that welcomes,
Her velvet arms that reach and take you in.

Can you touch that place within you,
The chill that came that frozen night?
This is her work, to preserve that spark
Until you are ready for spring's warm light.
Praise Her name, you who walk in the winter,
Praise Her cloak spread across the fields,
The teeth of the white wolf seize our souls,
Blood on the snow is the price we yield.
Aaaaah .... Aaaaah...
