Silver and Gold

In the morning I leave on the Longboat
In the morning I take to the waves
But tonight we still have together
And the fire has beautiful lights
dancing in your eyes

I'll bring you Silver and Gold
I'll bring you silk for your hair
I'll bring you treasure and more
I'll bring you jewels to wear

In the morning I'll kiss you good-bye
May your sailing go swiftly
and your men remain bold
I will be here waiting for you
But my treasure is not what I wear
It's the one that I hold

Bring back to me your eyes of grey
Bring back to me your warm embrace
Bring back my treasure to me
I only want to see your face

We landed somewhere on England
I could feel the chill of the water
through my boots
On the ninth day
We went into battle
And from nowhere a spear ran me through

I heard your voice as I lay dying
And I swear I saw a Valkyrie in the air
A Hall was shining in the distance
With my sword in my hand
I made my way there

Bring back to me your eyes of grey
Bring back to me your warm embrace
You are my treasure to me
I only want to see your face

You never did come back to me
And the son you've never seen
has your eyes and your hair
I tell him stories of his Father
And the last words
I was to hear

I'll bring you silver and Gold
I'll bring you silk for your hair
I'll bring you treasures and more
I'll bring you jewels to wear...
