New World

Höner that day will soon come
When after the firestorm
A bright world’s begun
In flowered fields you’ll stroll
The gods returned mighty and bold
And at tables play the games so old
And from that sheltering mighty tree
Step forth those blessed ones who will see
New tribes built so strong and free
Wish-father’s runes you’ll read aright
And ward off well any coming plight
Gifts will be given and gifts received
The folk again in the gods believe
Ever green is the mighty tree...
