Der Pfahlstein
(Externsteine)

Kraft ihren Beinen,
Lust ihrem Leben,
Vielfalt in HERNE`s Geweih.

Ich bin PAN, ich bin PAL,
aus dem glühenden Herzen der Erde
steig ich empor.
Ich bin der Blitz
der in die Wolken springt.
Der Bock, der Fruchtbarkeit verstreut,
der Stier, der Furchen zieht,
der Fuchs auf Lauer,
der Turm um den die Wolken tanzen,
der Katzenschrei in tiefer Nacht.

Ich bin PAN, ich bin PAL,
ja, FREY bin ich, der alte
der ewig junge FREY
und Freiheit, Freude, Friede,
ja Fruchtbarkeit geb ich.

Komm FREYA, hülle
mich ein! Du Stern der Sterne:
MOND! Sei du um mich, ja, verschling
nun deinen Drachen!
Tief aus der Erde wachse ich!

The Pole Stone
(Externsteine)

I am PAN,
I am PAL,
I am the Pole that grows from the earth.
I am the strength
That rises from the earth,
The beat of the heart
Glowing in the earth.

I am PAN, I am PAL,
The Pole, the arrow!
I lift grass and trees,
I lift animal and man
High into the light.
I give
Strength to their legs,
Lust to their lives,
Diversity in HERNE´s antlers.

I am PAN, I am PAL,
From the glowing heart of the earth
I arise.
I am the lightning
Jumping into the clouds.
The ram spreading fertility,
The bull drawing furrows,
The fox lying in waiting,
The tower around which the clouds dance,
The cry of the cat in deep night.

I am PAN, I am PAL,
yes, FREY I am, the old
The eternally young FREY
and freedom, joy, peace,
aye, fertility I give.

Come, FREYA, enfold me!
You star of stars:
Moon! Be around me, yes,
devour now your dragon!
Deep from the earth I grow!
