~ Poetry by me ~
Puzzling
I dreamt about a Rubik’s Cube,
its facets all atwist,
And though I guessed that I would rue ‘t,
I just could not resist:
I knew if I could solve it, then
I’d also understand
How your sides change and turn again
by easy sleight of hand;
Which ones are shown, and which ones hide
within this whirling maze;
How I might rearrange each side
to know your every face.
After an age (I’ll give the gist)
and after countless tries,
Just right before the final twist
I briefly rubbed my eyes –
And opened them to find the cube
reset! And worse, I deemed,
Even more complicated too
the pattern now did seem.
Of riddles I have solved my due,
of every kind and theme,
But realized that solving you
would just remain - a dream.
