The Old Year Now Away is Fled
The Old Year Now Away
is Fled MP3 (0,8 MB)
Tune: a variant of "Greensleeves"
The old year now away is fled,
the new year it is enteréd,
so let us now our sorrows shed
and joyfully all appear!
Let´s merry be this holy day,
at winter games let´s sport and play,
around the Yulefire sing and pray,
the
Gods send you a Happy New Year!
In our kindred´s company
in friendly manner we agree,
and all are welcome for to see:
Come join our jolly good cheer!
I thank my hostess and my host
who keep us safe from snow and frost,
now eat and drink and make your boast,
the
Gods send you a Happy New Year!
