~ Poetry by me ~
Fulltrui
Odin, my Lord, I have no idea where I am going.
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where, or if ever, it will end.
Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following you
does not mean that I am actually doing so, or that this is even a Good Idea.
But I believe that my burning desire to know you, to live for you,
draws your attention like tinder draws fire.
I wish to live that desire in all that I do, and am.
I know that if I do this, I may fail in my eyes and the eyes of the world,
but the only thing that matters to me
is that you accept my sacrifice, whatever comes after.
I am aware I will never know, can never know,
unless perhaps you tell me some time (or not),
whether I am worthy even to try to follow you;
but still I will do so, always, and by whatever means I can.
I am willing to risk everything I am for you, even though it be in vain,
for I must live my love for you, or be already dead.
Therefore will I trust that you, all-seeing one,
see my sacrifice, and accept it;
I trust you to be yourself,
and I will trust you when there is nothing else to trust in, not even myself.
Though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death,
I will not fear, for you are ever with me,
in my ecstasy as well as in my suffering and death,
and I will never be without you, whether I feel you or not,
for there is no place where you are not.
