~ Poetry by me ~

Asatru Child Blessing

Urd has spun the thread of your life,
Verdandi weaves your tapestry bright ,
Skuld will measure the fabric´s length,
And Frigga stitch for you runes of strength.

May you be clothed in these Goddesses' grace,
May you walk safely on Midgard´s face,
Have courage and steadfastness, vigor and health,
Honor and bounty, wisdom and wealth.

Thor, I give this child to your care
Freya, let him be loving and fair
Disir, keep him company kind,
All-Seeing Odin, open his mind.

All Aesir and Vanir, until he is grown,
And can stand up for himself and his own,
Protect him and guide him on all of his ways;
Friends of mankind, to you we give praise.
