Non-Norse Poetry by me ~

Finishing Touches
Enjoyment
wasn´t all. She felt
the need, almost a
sense of duty - after all,
she could make them forget their pains,
the ailments old age brought along,
of life lived long, and overlong.
Each story was unique, and yet
would end the same; like in a book
a proper setting needs be found,
so she applied the artist´s touch.
A sunny afternoon, then tea;
she wheeled them in for dinner, heard
with patience their old tales until
´twas time for bed, goodnight, a drink
of cyanide for pleasant sleep - then
putting out the light she left,
another day of duty done.
