Yggdrasil

cups of Mimir’s tea
sipped from the mouths of twilight elves
dancing ‘round the roots of Yggdrasil
stare at the old man’s wily head
hanging upside down
Allfather Woden keening the runes
wisdom in his right eye
death in his left
two ravens in the upper branches
wait solemnly
their whispers
lost in the mist of the drowning moon
