Purposes

Great Destroyer, Who crushes all the weak;
Resurrector, Who makes the slain ones speak;
Am I really here? Art Thou really there?
Will Thou not give ear? Dost Thou even care?

I cannot see Thee, though I surely feel;
Dost Thou hear this plea? Will Thou not reveal?
Who am I, and what? Where am I, and When?
How am I, and Why? How did this begin?

Hallowed Strider, on eight-hooved steed Thou goest;
Kind Provider, I wit purpose Thou knowest;
Though I see Thy light, I am led blindly.
Will Thou not my purpose confide in me?
