Hail Gullveig!
Ancient and Mighty Wane
Far-seeing volva
And wyrd bending witch
Did you smile Gullveig
When to the Aesir you fared
Knowing well how you’d be received?
Hail Gullveig!
Fire tested guest
Three times burned
Three times pierced
Risen in might
To the Aesirs awe
Heith they called you
A wide berth they gave you
Wandering freely working your will
A war you began
A war you were winning
‘til in your wisdom
a truce you sought
Asgards walls lay in ruins
The Wanes might proudly shown
Yet peace you offered them
And gifts you gave them
Wise Njord you fashioned
And Nerthus too
With Frey and Freyja
Placing Wanes among Ase
The future you saw
And shaped it you helped
Bringing together in frith
the tribes of gods
Hail Gullveig!
Far-seeing one
Hail Gullveig
Frith-weaver
Hail Gullveig
Weal working Wane!!
