Freyja Sun-Wing                           Poetic Form: Sestet

Mighty Freyja, watching gold-eyed from the height
Fiercest of queens, wrapped in the falcon’s spotted skin,
Gliding and plunging through the cold sunlight,
O come, blue skies of this middle earth grow thin
Freyja wind-spinner, Freyja sun-wing
Pass through the bright gate, the sun’s gold ring

O wise falcon-lady, Freyja high on the mountain face
No one walks with you from silver-pillared hall,
You fly before men from the secret wisdom-place,
I go with you, I hear your piercing call
Freyja wind-spinner, Freyja sun-wing
The secret falcon-spell I will sing

Cunning falcon-daughter, Freyja of sky-bright power
Travel over mountain and white-frosted sea,
Men must know secret things in a dangerous hour;
I raise myself, O falcon-lady; open fierce wings in me
Freyja wind-spinner, Freyja sun-wing
Wisdom upon the waiting seer bring

Falcon-lady of courage, mighty Freyja of ice and fire
Terrible the journey to other worlds for the wise,
O feather-bright Queen, sharp the hungers of desire;
Freyja the beautiful, lend me your all-seeing eyes
Freyja wind-spinner, Freyja sun-wing
Falcon-hearted seer gives offering.
