Freya´s Song                        Freya´s Song MP3 (3 MB)

I´ll tell you stories of beautiful Frowe,
happily told, happily heard,
Swiftly she rides her battle-sow,
Hildeswin has she named it.

Chorus:
Freyja, Freyja, Freyja, we
bring, high Mistress, honor to thee.
Freyja, Freyja, Freyja, we
bring, high Mistress, honor to thee.

As Gullveig to Asgard she went unknown,
three times she burned, three times she rose.
Kin to the Vanir, the Vanadis
soon was revenged by kinfolk.

The first war ever came to the world,
nobody won, nobody lost.
As hostage for peace she was chosen then,
found her new home in Folkvang.

Chorus

To Odin she taught her secret seidh,
magical woman, magical wife.
Odhur she lost and she wept for him
golden tears never drying.

Chorus

The jewel she got from the dwarves´ hands,
brilliant gold, radiant stone.
She carried love into all the lands,
gifting her shine to mankind.

Chorus

Of falcon feathers she owns a cloak,
loans it to Loki often for flight.
Lightly they fly above the worlds,
cloud-like o´er the landscape.

Chorus

To honor the Mistress, raise your horn:
Golden´s the mead, golden´s the wine.
Drink to the Frowe, the three times born.
Hail to the honored giver.

Chorus (Repeat 2x)
