The Boatman

Cloying mists mask in clouds of opaque opulence.
The Boatman paddles over mild, murky waters.
He turns His single eye to look askance.
He studies the warrior as He did his fathers.
Of worth this man in life did prove.
He fought valiantly but now does not move.
Struck down he was with sword and spear.
He died fighting with no fear.
The Boatman looks ahead, for to Valholl He goes.
Of what loss to Midgard this warrior He knows,
but to delay the Ragnarok the Boatman rows.
