One drop at a time,
Glistening red, dark as wine,
Your blood seeps into my heart,
Burning, transforming, remaking me,
Becoming mine,
Even as my own pumps into You
As we hang upon the Tree,
Joined flesh to flesh by spear of yew,
Heart to heart by bright point of steel,
Soul to soul by the yearning, the hunger, the torment,
Each breath mingling our combined essence
In an eternal blot,
Offering for offering, self to Self,
Blood for blood.
Each pang of Your ordeal, I welcome,
Each twinge of pain I embrace,
Every torture I cherish,
To lighten Your burden,
To lessen Your anguish,
To strengthen You,
As we hang upon the Tree,
Our mingled blood dripping into the Well
One drop at a time,
Patterning universes.
