Passing

A quiet, saddened, heartfelt sigh,
Escaped her wrinkled, aged lips.
Knowing any born are doomed to die.

Her good existence lived in blissful snips.
Of husbands’s touch or tender caress.
Such things are life’s sweet radar blips.

She knew that she’d been deeply blessed.
Through her elders and their knowing.
Her leaving thus easier to redress.

So when life’s winter frost came abluster blowing,
She found it not so hard Hela’s hand to take.
And left us here behind, her spirit fairly glowing.
