Midwinter
The earth asleep, the earth on hold,
but in the stillness of night's cold,
wanders the Wild Hunt so bold.
Dark and dreary days,
lonesome land,
leaveless trees,
deserted sea and sand.
Slowly light
returns to life,
longer each day:
the sun will survive!
