Is this my end?
Now I shall fare to the far side
Where the wonderous Powers have sent
For my soul to rest and reside.
I ponder and pray, "Is this my end?"
Have I earned love from kith and kin?
Have I learned to love all my friends?
Has my life done good deeds or sin?
I ponder and pray, "Is this my end?"
How much have I marched through the lands
Of bright forests and hills that bend
Into great dales of grass and sands?
I ponder and pray, "Is this my end?"
Have I seen courage as a sign
To come forth and bravely defend
The meek, the weak, and misaligned?
I ponder and pray, "Is this my end?"
Will those who come after my time
recall of good deeds done well and
Know how well I lived this life of mine?
I ponder and pray, "Is this my end?"
