Hail Midsummer!

It rains tonight      gentle, tender
a mother bathing her child

Norns-blessed youth      laughing, splashing
skin refreshed and gleaming

The evening meal      long hours past
I rest from day's labor

Yet Sunna lingers      cloud-defiant
blue tints behind the black

Thor rumbles      but cannot halt
midsummer's steady advance

Long, happy days      solstice once more
a joy to all good folk
