Gunnar

The god of the halberd
gave the ravens much food,
against great odds
he grew in glory.
His brother became
the Valkyrie's champion,
and joined the wanderer
in his great hall.

His grief was great
and the war-god did smile,
not a man that lived
left without Gunnar's reward.
Men will sing
of the widow maker's mighty deeds,
how three stood against thirty
and lost only one third.
