What I look for in others is no less
than what I seek to nourish in myself -
the strength to hold firm under any stress,
to be true through the most difficult test,
to bravely face whatever my fate brings,
to give generously to all my guests,
to strive to control my will in all things,
to be honest to all despite the cost,
to rely on myself first and foremost,
to give dedication to any work,
to have a reputation worth a boast,
to be strong in these and honor my gods
and be someone others would like to know
as I strive to make my ancestors proud -
all of this I seek in myself to grow.
