~ Non-Norse Poetry by Others ~

King of the Pond

In Sunna's dawn resplendent hue,
perched high upon the breeze blown reed.
Who's subjects would do well to heed,
a glinting flash of green and blue,
lone despot without retinue.
Leaps skywards now for morning feed,
most deft of every airborn deed.
Goes first of all the wyrms that flue'
prime offspring of the water wight
and nymphs born of the tranquil spring.
Transformed he hovers now in flight,
Humming on translucent wing.
Here views his realm from lofty high,
then waits for what the day will bring.
